The Hurst Campus
Experience Hurst Campus
Our state of the campus promises to aid in providing you with a world class qualification. You will gain enormous practical experience as you will be taught by our dedicated Chefs and front of House team in our exclusive on-site practical training areas. These include a production bakery, pastry kitchen and a hands on practical kitchen with individual work stations.
We also have a bistro style student restaurant- you will be cooking for customers from early on in your education, gaining great experience in both the hot kitchen and front of house service.
Stay at home, stay at Hurst
We offer accommodation for qualifying students. Live in comfort in our hotel-style rooms, including two kitchens and a shared communal space where you can relax with your fellow students. Accommodation is provided for a limited number of first year students. Preference is given to students who live outside of the Western Cape with no immediate family in the area. Only registered students may apply for onsite accommodation.
Celebrating 27 Years of Success
Hurst Campus was founded in 1997 as a Chefs Training School in central Cape Town. Hurst now offers additional hospitality services including catering, a function venue, and now a breakfast and lunch service for local residents and business owners in Paarl. Visit Meals on Main to find out more!
Real world chef experience
Hurst chef students are trained and taught in our in-house bakery, dedicated hot kitchen, hands-on demonstration kitchen and lecture rooms.
Practical experience is gained by working on our pastry deli counter, barista station and dining room situated onsite in the MOM Café. Additional experience is earned through internships which are organised by Hurst.
